Be ruthless with the useless
We move forward in life, but not everything moves with us.
We find ourselves not needing things anymore.
A couch. A post-it note. A sweater. A belief.
Whatever it is, sometimes we want to hold on to it. What if…
That what if rarely comes.
If we quickly go through things that we don’t need, triage, and throw out a lot, our mind will be more at peace than if we let things be.
Accumulating things is a sign of stasis. We humans don’t like stasis in the long-term. We need to evolve.
Look around yourself.
Is there anything you don’t need anymore? Anything that fulfilled its purpose?
Get rid of it.
