Get the main thing right
The world is complex beyond our comprehension. What to do with it?
We can get some things right. Not all, some.
We can solve some problems, not all. If we’re good, we can solve one or two big ones.
The way to solving them is not finding a perfect solution. That would mean creating a solution accounting for all possible present and future circumstances.
The way is creating a solution that is more right than wrong. Creating a solution that solves the main part of the problem at least halfway well. Then the working solution can be gradually honed and improved.
The question is: what is the main part to be done well? And what is the rest?
Focus on the main part the most, disregard the rest when you can.
In what you do at the moment, what is the main part that really matters?
